Jackie Shortlisted for AAT Social Sustainability Award

We’re delighted to share some exciting news from the JDH team! Jackie has been shortlisted for the AAT Social Sustainability Award at the 2026 AAT Impact Awards. The award’s full title is Social Sustainability Champion of the Year.

The awards celebrate AAT members who make a lasting difference in their communities. They also recognise people who open doors for others through their work in finance. For us, this shortlisting means a great deal. It reflects something that matters to JDH: helping people feel supported, build confidence and gain the knowledge they need to succeed.

Making a Difference Beyond the Numbers

At JDH Accountants & Business Advisers, we believe accountancy is about more than figures and deadlines. It’s also about people, their businesses and the communities around them.

Jackie has always been passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping others. Earlier this year, a member of the JDH team nominated her for the award. The nomination recognised the time and effort she puts into supporting people, both through JDH and in the wider community.

Here are just a few examples of how Jackie puts these values into practice.

Supporting Landlords in Our Community

Jackie has gone out of her way to support a local landlords association. She helps landlords understand their tax responsibilities and prepare for changes such as Making Tax Digital.

These sessions give landlords the chance to ask questions and understand what the changes mean for them. They also offer reassurance about the next steps. Just as importantly, Jackie makes time to speak with people individually. This helps ease their concerns and makes complicated information easier to understand.

As a result, landlords can feel more prepared and confident about managing their responsibilities.

Opening Doors to Careers in Finance

Jackie also supported a local school careers day. She helped introduce young pupils to the world of accountancy.

Encouraging the next generation is important. After all, children might not immediately see accountancy as a career option. Giving them the chance to explore the profession can open their eyes to new possibilities.

Through fun, practical activities, Jackie showed pupils how financial skills support everyday businesses. In turn, this helped bring accountancy to life and encouraged the children to think about their future careers.

Helping Clients Build Confidence Through Training

JDH’s New Training Station

At JDH, one of our biggest priorities is helping clients feel confident about managing their finances.

That’s why we’re developing a dedicated training area in our office. Here, clients can learn how to use their bookkeeping software and manage their own records. We also offer practical training sessions and one-to-one support. This gives clients the skills they need to take greater control of their bookkeeping.

Of course, we’re always here to provide advice and support when clients need us. However, sharing our knowledge also helps clients understand their numbers and make informed decisions. Most importantly, it gives them greater confidence in running their businesses.

For us, this is a key part of being an accountant. We don’t just complete the paperwork. Instead, we help people understand their finances and feel confident about moving forward.

Looking Ahead to the AAT Impact Awards 2026

We’re incredibly proud that Jackie has been shortlisted for the AAT Social Sustainability Award. This recognition gives us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate her work with clients, young people and our local community.

We’re also excited to attend the awards ceremony on Friday 6 November 2026. The ceremony takes place during AAT Connect at The Brewery in London.

Whatever the outcome, we’re delighted to celebrate this achievement. The shortlisting reflects the values we want to build into JDH every day. We believe in sharing knowledge, supporting our community and helping people feel less overwhelmed by their finances.

Finally, from all of us at JDH, congratulations, Jackie! We’re proud of what you do and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone at the awards.
