How the JDH Team is Going Green: Cutting Plastic and Waste
Plastic pollution threatens our oceans and health. Every minute, a dumper truck’s worth of plastic enters the ocean. This will double soon. At JDH, we actively reduce plastic use to protect the environment. Here’s how our team makes a difference.
Cutting Plastic Waste: Simple Changes That Matter
We Use Reusable Water Bottles
Buying bottled water costs 500 times more than refilling from a tap. Plus, tap water offers the same health benefits. Our team uses refillable bottles to save money and reduce plastic waste.
We Choose Cloth Facial Cleansers
Disposable wipes contain plastic and don’t biodegrade. We switched to washable cloths—just like the old-fashioned flannels—to avoid plastic waste.
We Bring Reusable Shopping Bags
Plastic bags take up to 1,000 years to decompose. We keep reusable bags in our cars and backpacks to avoid single-use plastic bags.
We Pack Lunches in Reusable Containers
Plastic wrap and sandwich bags end up in landfills. Our team uses lunch boxes to save money and reduce plastic waste.
We Use Shampoo Bars
Instead of buying shampoo in plastic bottles, we switched to natural shampoo bars. They clean just as well and have zero plastic packaging.
We Buy Refills to Cut Plastic Packaging
We choose refills when possible. For example, Dettol’s hand soap and cleaning spray refills use 70% less plastic than new bottles.
